Subject: Teaching Faculty - Primary Language Not English

ALL full-time and adjunct credit faculty members must complete upon employment, as part of their personnel file, a form declaring whether or not English is their primary language. The form remains in the faculty member’s personnel file.

If English is a faculty member’s primary language, no further action is taken.

Once the form is completed, the following process will occur:

  1. Names of faculty members whose primary language is not English are submitted by Human Resources to the appropriate dean.
  2. The dean will send a memo to these faculty members to schedule an appointment to determine if language assistance is required.
  3. When assistance is needed, the dean will work with Human Resources to recommend the appropriate language program.
