Based upon instructional need, full-time faculty members may contract up to 49% above their regular workload during the long semesters. In case of institutional emergency, the president may approve contracting above 49%. In all cases, the president must approve all contracts in which the workload exceeds 149%.

Adjunct faculty members may not be contracted beyond 49% of a full-time faculty workload.

In case of institutional necessity, an adjunct faculty member may be contracted beyond 49% of a full-time faculty workload; however, such contract will be calculated at the appropriate percentage of a full-time faculty contract. The president must approve all such contracts, which also require board approval.
