Chapter: ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
Subject: Operational Memoranda Process

The contents of Answers, Procedures, Guidelines: Brookhaven College’s Manual of Operational Memoranda are specific procedures of Brookhaven College designed to be followed in carrying out DCCCD policies and procedures, as stated either in the Board of Trustees Policies and Procedures Manual http://www.tasb.org/policy/pol/private/057501/ or other manuals authorized by the Board of Trustees, e.g. the District Business Office Procedures Manual, http://www.dcccd.edu/shared.nfs/intranet/dcccd/business_affairs/bpm/toc.htm and the college catalog http://www.dcccd.edu/cat0102/. Operational Memoranda

Answers, Procedures, Guidelines: Brookhaven College’s Manual of Operational Memoranda is designed to incorporate in a central document procedures which might otherwise be in operation but not in writing, or at least not in writing in a convenient source book. This manual is designed to enhance communications and provide a benchmark for operational consistency.

Purpose

Employees are encouraged to make suggestions for updating existing memoranda or creating new ones for procedures in effect but not otherwise included or referenced in this manual.

An employee of Brookhaven College may suggest the adoption of a new or the revision of an existing operational memorandum. The process is:

  1. An individual initiating the proposed memorandum (new or revised) will contact the office of the President;
  2. Following approval of the need for inclusion by the President’s Cabinet, a new or revised memorandum will be circulated to all manual holders;
  3. The President will forward copies to the Chancellor’s office in accordance with I/A
Adoption and Revision

It is the responsibility of all manual holders to keep their individual copies current upon receipt of updated memoranda, policy sheet updates that are received from District throughout the year, and revisions that are listed in Courtyard Chatter after Board of Trustee meetings.

A staff member designated by the President will routinely update this manual, provide hard copies to all recipients and keep the college informed of changes.
