During fall 2007, approximately 10,437 academic credit students — 23.3 percent full-time and 76.7 percent part-time — attended Brookhaven College. Thousands of students enroll in Workforce and Continuing Education Division courses during any given term. The average age of the student body is 29 with the largest percentage ages 21 to 25. Approximately 57.9 percent of students are female.


Known as a comprehensive community college, Brookhaven College serves international students who represent more than 100 countries and speak 95 languages. The ethnic make-up of the student population is 41.2 percent Caucasian, not Hispanic; 26.8 percent Hispanic; 13.5 percent African American; 13.8 percent Asian; and 4.7 percent other.
