Brookhaven College Celebrates Black History Month

This month is Black History Month, and to celebrate, Brookhaven College hosted several events. Here are a list of the ones that have past, and the ones still to come!

Feb. 5
African American Read-In
-This year the theme was "Earth, Wind and Fire: the Poetry of the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and 1970s." This event took place in the Performance Hall, and included the help of several employees and students.

Feb. 11
Speed Dating
-Starting at 4 p.m., this event mostly involved students and a few employees. Along with guest Marco Walder, attendees swapped tables and phone numbers in this speed exercise.

Feb. 12
Author Marco Walder Discussion
-Author of "Let's Stay Together" visited Brookhaven College again! Marco discussed his relationship model with students and employees, and took some questions at the end.

Feb. 27
"A Taste of Culture"
-Come down to the Tree Top Café at noon and enjoy some food and good spirits!
