View the Lunar Eclipse at Brookhaven College
Release Date April 11
Just once every few years, the moon moves completely through the shadow of the Earth in a lunar eclipse.
The next lunar eclipse visible in Dallas will be in the very early hours of April 15, from 12:30-4:30 a.m. The Brookhaven College Astronomy Department in conjunction with the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas will have telescopes set up for people to view the eclipse in the courtyard between Buildings K and X on the college campus.
If the weather is clear, all of North Texas should be able to see the eclipse, but the view through a telescope will reveal detail not visible with the naked eye. The community is invited to attend. Brookhaven College is located at 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch. For more information, you can contact the Brookhaven College Astronomy Department at 972-860-4766.
