Student Success - Mary Catherine Schoals, Brookhaven College 2014 graduate and former part-time employee, was recently notified of her selection as a Terry Scholar at the University of North Texas. The Terry Foundation, one of Texas’ largest private providers of educational scholarships, offers a $12,500 per year stipend to transfer/non-traditional students. Terry Scholars are selected at Texas colleges for their academic potential, leadership, and financial need.

Employee Success - Sylvia Wise, coordinator for continuing education and workforce development at Brookhaven College, is currently reaching out to Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce members in the community through the BusinessNSight - Topics to Spur Growth series of workshops.  The Chamber holds one such event each month to educate members and potential members about various business topics. After the featured guest delivers his/her speech, Wise gives a brief presentation to promote business courses offered through Brookhaven College’s Corporate Training Solutions and the Entrepreneurial Institute. These courses are crafted to offer some of the components that will help enhance the success of a business, thus helping to stimulate economic growth in the community.

Institutional Effectiveness - Readers of ADDISON magazine have selected Brookhaven College as “Favorite Local College!” At a reception on June 24, business owners and leaders from the Addison area were presented awards in 85 different categories ranging from favorite travel agency to favorite attorneys and much more. Dr. Thom Chesney, president of Brookhaven College, graciously accepted the award on behalf of the college.
