It’s that time of year again - time to make sure that students are ready to register for the next semester. Encourage your students to come to the Student Services Center and take care of all their business needs: from paying fees to completing paperwork. With registration for continuing students nearly underway, it’s the perfect time of year to encourage students to re-enroll and to help them ensure that there are no stumbling blocks that might get in their way.
The Human Resources Office has added the Deer Oaks monthly newsletter to the employee intranet so these materials can be accessible to employees all the time. Deer Oaks is the district’s Employee/Dependent Assistance Program, EDAP, provider. Each newsletter contains information about topics related to work and life. For supervisors, the topics focus on workplace morale, employee relations and various other issues. For employees, there is a variety of topics addressed from finance to health to parenting, depending on the issue. Deer Oaks, as the district’s EDAP, provides employees and their dependents with six pre-paid counseling sessions per problem incident. The schedule is set for the Holiday Party on Dec. 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be details about the potluck assignments, location and times in the coming weeks, so watch your e-mail to make sure you don’t miss this time to share and have fun with colleagues and friends.
