Tables were filled with a variety of food along with scraps of colored paper, pencils and markers for the college’s community service project – writing letters to the troops. Hundreds of cards and letters were gathered and forwarded on to an organization that will ensure that the letters will reach our troops overseas for the holidays.
The card contest was also a great success and drew a large number of entrants in each category. Doris Rousey, executive dean of Mathematics and Science, won in several categories with help from her daughter. They won for best holiday card and best patriotic card. Adryna Roberson, niece of Tarrilynn Wall, instructional associate in computer sciences, had the best card by a child 10 and younger. Seth Collinsworth, age four, took the top prize for best get well card.
Congratulations to the winners and for those who took home a centerpiece from the event.
