On the Friday after district Conference Day, the faculty members can choose to attend the convention for the Texas Community College Teachers Association at the Fairmont Hotel. This year’s theme is “We are TCCTA: Spanning Generations” and the convention offers more than 100 discipline-specific sections for those who attend. TCCTA members pay just $75 for convention registration. Non-members pay an additional charge.
The TCCTA is – by far – the largest organization of postsecondary educators in Texas. Members include professors, counselors, librarians and administrators from all public and independent two-year colleges in Texas. From a professional newsletter, to liability insurance, the TCCTA offers its members a variety of professional development and representation. Membership ranges from $25 depending on the level.
