Give a Welcome to New Employees

If you haven’t taken a moment yet to meet some of the new employees at Brookhaven College, we are adding an opportunity for a small introduction. Put together a face with the name and a few facts before you make your introduction.

Sue Glenn

Sue Glenn

Sue Glenn, program director in Workforce and Continuing Education

Originally from Denison, Texas, Sue has more than 20 years of experience in adult and continuing education. She started at a community college, earning an Associate in Business Administration, before moving on to Austin College for her bachelor’s degree. Her graduate work was focused in education and she worked for five years planning and developing programs for the Dallas Independent School District, with PBS in Philadelphia and in the defense industry. In addition to coordinating programs to help adults learn new skills, she helps horses build new lives through rehabilitation and training. She owns three horses, two of which were severely abused, and trains horses and gives riding instruction for adults and children. Sue’s a first-time grandmother, to an eight-month-old girl, so if you want to start a conversation you could always ask to see a photo.

Kamilla Safaryan

Kamilla Safaryan

Kamilla Safaryan, information specialist in Professional Development

Kamilla was born in Baku, Armenia, but has lived in Dallas for the last 15 years. She is working on finishing her bachelor’s degree and plans to move on to complete her master’s degree as well.

Sandy Wyche

Sandy Wyche

Sandy Wyche, interim dean of Business Studies Division

Formerly a full-time mathematics professor at El Centro College, Sandy Wyche is taking this opportunity to learn about the disciplines, programs and certificates offered through the Business Studies Division at Brookhaven College. Wyche earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He also spent more than 20 years serving in a variety of engineer and project manager positions with SBC, Inc. While working with SBC, Sandy taught as an adjunct professor in San Antonio and Dallas. He started his second career with the district after retiring from SBC in 2001 starting as a visiting scholar before becoming a full-time professor.

While at El Centro, Sandy served on several teams including the SACS and Visions of Excellence Steering committees as well as taking part in the Brother to Brother Male Mentoring Program to encourage African American males to achieve academic excellence and success. He has termed his first semester as interim dean as “busy and challenging, yet rewarding in so many ways.”

Sandy and his family take long road trips, cross-country visiting American historical sites—like traveling to Monticello in Virginia . He likely has anecdotes to share about his travels, and his family is very important to him. His personal hobbies include jogging and listening to jazz music.
