

Special guests will join the students in the School of the Arts Dancers’ Theatre Fall Performance, Nov. 16-18. The show combines the talents of the students in Brookhaven College dance courses with guest performances from Dallas Powerhouse of Dance Performing Company and students at Skyline High Schools. Pieces in the show will range from modern to jazz to lyrical.
The professional dancers and choreographers who teach as faculty members in the Brookhaven College School of the Arts choreograph performances. Anna Marie Ewert-Pittman is the founder of Ewert & Company Dance Company. Michelle Sherrill earned her Master of Fine Arts in choreographic theory from Southern Methodist University and danced professionally with Dallas Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dancers Unlimited. Michael Mayes has performed with Ballet Dallas, Ballet Metropolitan, Ballet Metrocrest and the Fort Worth Dallas Ballet. Eva O’Brien has an extensive background in choreographing and teaching various styles of dance with performance credits which include Total Dance Explosion, N2it, Ewert & Company and Dancers’ Theatre. Shannon Tate is the co-founder of the Ground Level Dance Company.
Dancers’ Theatre is the performance company extension of the Brookhaven College School of the Arts Dance Department. The dance company performs concerts at the college three times a year, for all levels and ages of dancers. They also have performed at The Dallas Morning News Dance Festival and the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival. The Dance Department at Brookhaven College offers classical ballet, modern, tap, jazz and hip hop courses for college credit or personal enrichment.
Performances are at the Brookhaven College Performance Hall Nov. 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
