There’s no rule that says that Thank You Notes have to come from outside the college community. Sometimes it is also nice to take a moment to thank our fellow employees for all that they do, as well.

A quick e-mail note from Richard McCrary, vice president of learning and student success, let one employee know she was appreciated.
I want to thank Susie Coffman in Automotive Technology for the outstanding manner in which she advises the students in that area. Susie is somewhat like a den mother in that she takes these students under her wing to help them move through the system, and she always does this in a cheerful manner. It is this personal connection with our students that goes a long way in retaining our students.

Please give "thanks" to my mentor, Doris Rousey. She has given me great advice throughout the semester and still is providing me with
assistance when needed! As a matter of fact, just yesterday she provided me with a list of "end-of-semester closing out" items which I need to do and/or watch
for. Of course it helps by me being a faculty member to know many of the items she was addressing.

P.S. - Doris can tell you that it also helped that we both worked in the telecommunications industry for many years; that is, we have similar work habits.

The students were so excited to receive the t-shirts from various colleges today. Then when I ran out they were so disappointed.
