PSSA Scholarship Supports Students

PSSA Scholarship

Each year, the Professional Support Staff Association offers a $300 award to a student. The scholarship is available to any student who is enrolled in at least six credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. The PSSA Scholarship will be awarded to a student returning to Brookhaven College the semester after the award is presented to them at the annual student awards ceremony and must be used only for tuition and fees at the college.

Applications are available in the Scholarships/Financial Aid Office. Students must submit a completed application, a letter of recommendation from an instructor and a transcript or grade report by 9 a.m., March 1. The student must type brief paragraphs defining their educational and career goals, describing their typical week with home, work and school, and explaining why they deserve the scholarship. PSSA members and all employees are encouraged to talk to students about applying.

Members of the PSSA Scholarship Committee select three applicants who are presented to the full PSSA membership at a monthly meeting. The final candidate is selected by vote from those at the meeting.
