Career Week Offers Opportunities for Graduates

Career Week Offers Opportunities for Graduates

Career week at Brookhaven College gives students and community members the opportunity to prepare for a new career for their new spring beginning. Brookhaven College’s Career Development Center coordinates a week of activities for students and the public to prepare themselves for the job market. A career fair in the Student Services Center, Building S, featuring more than 70 employers on April 10 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., rounds out the week of speakers.

The career fair provides opportunities for students and community members to speak directly to employers who are seeking to fill both full- and part-time positions. Employers will include banks; hotels and resorts; financial services; and retail, insurance, government and technical companies. Attendees at past fairs have included both national and local businesses, large and small, such as Crowne Plaza Addison, Parkland Hospital, Bank of America, Pappas Restaurants and Green Mountain Energy.

Prior to the career fair, the Career Development Center has arranged for speakers to offer tips for improving your online job search, setting goals and preparing your resume in advance of the fair.

The events are free and open to the public. In addition to two semi-annual career fairs, Brookhaven College’s Career Development Center offers individual counseling, mock interviews, career testing and job search assistance. For more information about the career fair, please contact the Career Development Center at ext. 4894.
