Media Survey Gauges Student Usages

Faculty and staff members are being asked to encourage students to participate in the district’s media survey. Students are receiving an e-mail invitation to participate, and can win their choice of an iPod or iTunes gift card! The survey is voluntary, anonymous, and takes just 25-30 minutes, depending upon Internet connectivity and their computer skills. The District Marketing Office is using this survey to gather useful information from students that will assist with future planning and help more effectively target marketing for our colleges.

Department of Education Hearing

On Sept. 19, Texas Christian University will host the first in a series of Department of Education regional meetings on the new Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. By law, before the new law takes effect, the Department of Education must conduct a series of public meetings to discuss the issues and concerns of students, families and institutions. Those wishing to address the panel must sign up to speak on the day of the event. Sign-ups begin at 8 a.m. just outside the Union ballroom. The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 extends and enhances the Higher Education Act, the federal law that provides student grants and loans to students and families. The hearings are open to the public. Parking is available in the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center lot, which is located on Stadium Drive, immediately across the street from the Brown-Lupton University Union.
