Recital Series Offers Free Performances

Recital Series

DALLAS – Highlighting local area performers, the recital series at Brookhaven College returns for the fall semester. The weekly series offers opportunities for students and the public to enjoy free performances by professional musicians at small concerts. The Recital Series takes place on Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Building D, Room D203, throughout September and October. The series features a variety of musical styles and instruments. The schedule of performers includes the following ensembles and individuals.

Sept. 18 – “Fantasy Tropical” by Ernesto Garcia features Carlo Pezzimenti, Pedro Haley, Brian Rowe and Dennis Harris on guitar; Ricky Reeves on clarinet; Jennifer McElroy on flute and John Osburn on percussion.

Sept. 25 - Voice Recital: Thomas Lipsmeyer, Brookhaven College professor, and countertenor

Oct. 2 – Clara Schumann Piano Trio features members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Jan Mark Sloman on violin and Yuri Anshelevich on cello along with Gustavo Tolosa, Brookhaven College professor and director of the Arts Academy, playing piano.
