Children’s Play Feature For Theatre Brookhaven This Fall

Children’s Play Feature For Theatre Brookhaven This Fall

When his science project goes awry, Beanie Boren brings bits of storybooks to life. In “Beanie and the Bamboozling Book Machine,” Theatre Brookhaven presents its first children’s production in more than five years. Families and all ages are welcome to performances, Oct. 16-26.

Bob Mays, Roy C. Booth and Cristopher Tibbetts wrote this fantasy and adventure play for children. Beanie created a machine that read books for him and would give him the answers to his teachers’ questions. However, something goes wrong. With characters drawn from “Hansel and Gretel,” “Snow White” and “The Wizard of Oz”, the production brings to life some of children’s favorite stories in a completely new way.

Performances are Oct. 16-18 and 23-25 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 19 and 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the School of the Arts Performance Hall. General admission is $8; students and senior adults are $6. Tickets are available at the School of the Arts Box Office at 972-860-4118. Box Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
