Sandy Wyche
Sandy Wyche, executive dean of the Business Studies Division, spent some time with a group of children at the E. D. Walker Middle School for the school’s career day. He spoke to almost 100 eighth-grade students focusing on his work with Southwestern Bell/AT&T in the private sector and his time in the DCCCD.
He was asked to speak to the students about himself and his career. He wanted to emphasize the importance of hard work and staying focused on education. In addition to good work habits, he let them know that there were other things like attendance, punctuality and appearance that factor into doing well in their jobs.
Taking advantage of the forum, he also told students about opportunities at community college like dual credit and career education.
