New DCCCD Money Card Handles Student Refunds

New DCCCD Money Card Handles Student Refunds

DCCCD has partnered with Higher One, a financial services company, to process and distribute refunds and disbursements to all credit students. In April, Higher One will replace the current processing systems for refunds and disbursements, which have been handled through a combination of Chase Bank cards and ACH transactions.

Every credit student will receive a DCCCD Money Card in the mail. It will provide access to www.DCCCDMoneyCard.com, where students will choose their refund preference for receiving their money. Even if students received a refund in the past, they are required to use the card to select their refund preference.

Students will have three options:

  1. Easy refund to the OneAccount—An easy refund is a direct deposit of your refund and disbursement money into an FDIC insured checking account called the OneAccount, offered by Higher One. Money is available the same day DCCCD releases the funds to Higher One.
  2. Automated check handling, ACH, Transfer—Money is available 2-3 business days from the day DCCCD releases the funds to Higher One. Students are able to choose their own bank.
  3. A mailed paper check—Money is available 5-7 business days from the day DCCCD releases the funds to Higher One.

If your job involves direct contact with students, you may be asked questions about this change concerning how we do business. To enable you to answer these questions, DCCCD is offering two employee training sessions which will include question-and-answer sessions.

R.s.v.p. to Steve McDonald at the District Service Center if you would like to attend.
