Sofa Kings prevailed at last event.
A full and true accounting of the actual event will be included in the June edition of the Courtyard Chatter. On the off-chance that having your name in the college newsletter will spur greater competition and bigger donations for the cause, the editor has elected to do anything she can to add fuel to the competition by previewing what it might be like to win.
“That was the best trivia team I have ever seen in action,” said one rival team leader. “We were just no match at all.” The _____________ trivia team took an early lead and battled through some stiff competition to take the title this year.
Many gathered in the college gym on May 13 beginning at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, with the first trivia question starting the competition at 12:15 p.m.
“I just can’t believe anyone could know that much useless information,” commented one spectator. Each member of the ______________ team is looking forward to having bragging rights as part of the top team. They estimate the caché of having won this year’s event will only lead them to bigger and better things at the college for years to come.
This year’s Ben Barnes Memorial Trivia Challenge on May 13 raised a phenomenal amount for the Employee Emergency Fund. Just the entry fees for all the teams who took part raised more than $500. With spectators and team members, the whole of the college community came together and enjoyed the great dishes that were brought for the potluck and really got behind the spirit of giving with their donations.
--Studying may not earn your team the top place this year, as at the last event it was dollars donated that put one team over the top. If you’d like to have your team talked about in such glowing terms in the June edition, keep in mind that every dollar raised goes to supporting our fellow employees in need. Good Luck!
