“Hamburger,” a ceramic piece, was created by Ranchview High School student Frank Mata.
Advanced placement art students from Creekview, Newman Smith, Ranchview and R. L. Turner high schools had their art featured in an exhibit in the Forum Gallery at Brookhaven College from May 28 through June 5. The exhibit included works from 85 students in a wide variety of media.
In the Studio Gallery, 15 artists from W. T. White High School in Dallas also had their work featured.
Receptions for the students and their parents, teachers and administrators were held May 29 in both galleries.
Newman Smith High School student Katie Duda created this mixed media piece, “Homage to Escher.”
Catherine Fielder, a student at Newman Smith High School, created “People” in watercolor and pencil.
Creekview High School student Jennifer Kim’s mixed media piece is untitled.
Newman Smith High School student Brandon Binns’ “Several Portraits” was created with ink, paint and plywood.
