Theatre Brookhaven to Present RENT

Theatre Brookhaven presents a musical each summer. The featured play this year will be "RENT."

For this year's summer musical, Theatre Brookhaven will present the award-winning Broadway hit "RENT."

Hailed for its unconventional themes, "RENT" won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, four Tony awards, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Obie Award.

Based on Giacomo Puccini's opera, "La Boheme," "RENT"; follows a group of impoverished young artists and musicians as they learn to survive, fall in love, find their voices and live with AIDS.

Due to language and subject matter, the play is for mature audiences only.

Performances are July 23-25 and July 31-Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. and July 26 and Aug. 2 at 2:30 p.m. in the School of the Arts Performance Hall in Building C. General admission is $15; students and senior adults are $10. Tickets are available at the School of the Arts Box Office at 972-860-4118. Box Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
