The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District saw a jump in its exemplary and recognized campuses when the Texas Education Agency released its annual accountability ratings last month.
Nineteen schools were named exemplary, compared to eight last year.
Improved scores on the 2008-09 TAKS tests and more commended students contributed to the ratings.
When asked if this improvement could affect enrollment of recent high school graduates in Brookhaven College developmental courses, Doris Rousey, dean of mathematics and science, said, “It’s too early to tell.”
