Thank You Notes

We are always looking for notes of thanks recognizing employees for their assistance, guidance or encouragement. If you or a colleague receives a thank you, don’t hesitate to pass it along to the Courtyard Chatter.

This note was sent to Brad Thomas, assistant director of academic advisng, from S.R. “Randy” Williams, a Brookhaven COllege student’s father.

Brad:

Just a note to express my appreciation for the time that you and Brenda invested in assisting our son, Shawn, with his late registration yesterday (related to 'Academic Probation').

Shawn appeared to be pleased with the results. I am confident that it was very beneficial for him to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

I trust that he will put the opportunity to good use.

Thank you again (from one non-'helicopter-parent' dad)!

Regards,

S. R. "Randy" Williams

This note was sent by Marilyn Kolesar-Lynch, associate vice president for career and program resources, to Diane Brownlee, director of the Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute; Curt Capetillo, room use coordinator; JoAnn McKnight, division secretary; and Maria Hinojosa, coordinator for custodial services, for their committment to service.

We use the word "partner" on this campus often; and today you enabled us to demonstrate our ability to be a genuine partner when one of ours came to us with an emergency need. Just as Thomas Jefferson High School Principal Ed Conger assembled his 78 faculty members for beginning-of-the-year meetings in their library this morning, the air conditioning failed in that area, and they were sweltering in the heat. He called upon Brookhaven College to see if we could possibly help; and thanks to you, we were able to assist.

Diane: Thank you for responding immediately as I walked into your office this morning to see what was available. As a result, the TJ group was able to meet (complete with A/C) in H125 from 1-5 p.m. this afternoon. Thanks also to Maria Hinojosa for arranging for an extra table.

Curt: Because EMGI was not available tomorrow from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., we had to look for other appropriate areas (which meant Q201, due to use of K234 and B304) for curriculum workshops. Thanks to JoAnn McKnight and you working together, I was able to personally deliver the map indicating their room for tomorrow to Mr. Conger at his meeting in the EMGI shortly after 1 p.m. today.

As you are aware, we are developing a great working relationship with many faculty and staff at TJHS. Our quick response today to help them solve an emergency situation has done much to solidify that relationship. Thank you for your support. It is genuinely appreciated.
