Victor de la Vega
Victor de la Vega was recognized as the Professional Support Staff Employee of the Month for September.
The nomination mentioned Victor’s work in the Learning Resource Center, Building L, during the summer and also emphasized his helpfulness and pleasant attitude.
During the celebration, Tommy Gallegos, college director of facilities management, spoke about Victor.
Victor is an attorney in his home country and plans to work to become an attorney in the United States as well. He is currently working to improve his English skills by taking English for Speakers of Other Languages courses.
He believes everyone’s job on campus is important and contributes to overall student success. He takes pride in the way the buildings and grounds look and believes an inviting, attractive campus is important.
George Herring, vice president for business services, also spoke at Victor’s party, mentioning what a good painter Victor is and urging everyone to stop and admire the work he has done on campus.
