Members of the Dance Department
will perform at the annual
Summer Dance Festival
from July 30 to Aug. 1.
Everyone is invited to relax in the grass and enjoy the summer festival for the Brookhaven College School of the Arts Dance Program.
The summer festival gives dancers and student choreographers a chance to stretch their imaginations and sharpen their skills. Free performances entertain audiences July 30-31 and Aug. 1 at 8:30 p.m. in the International Courtyard.
Our talented students have created new works with the help of our professional instructors/choreographers. Join us as we celebrate their journey and accomplishments.
Dancers’ Theatre is the performance company extension of the Brookhaven College School of the Arts Dance Department. The dance company performs concerts three times a year, for all levels and ages of dancers.
The Dance Department offers classical ballet, pointe, modern, tap, jazz and hip-hop courses for college credit or personal enrichment. The Brookhaven College School of the Arts dance professors include professional dancers and choreographers like Anna Marie Ewert-Pittman, founder of Ewert & Company dance company; Shannon Tate, co-founder of the Ground Level Dance Company; and Michelle Sherrill, professional dancer with Dallas Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dancers Unlimited.
The free performances are in the International Courtyard and are open to the public with lawn seating. For more information about these performances or about dance classes, please contact the dance office at 972-860-4122.
