opening address.

On Nov. 11, students, employees and community members gathered in the Student Services Center lobby to celebrate and honor our country’s military veterans.

Daniel Marold, Student Government Association president, led the ceremony, and Meridith Danforth, assistant director of Marketing and Public Information, delivered the welcome address.

Guest speakers included Col. Thomas Kula, commander and division engineer with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, and Michael Greenwald, counselor at the Dallas County Vet Center. The R.L. Turner High School Color Guard displayed the flags, while Sue Cruz sang “The Star Spangled Banner.”

At the end of the service, all present veterans were asked to say their names, military branch and years of service. Each received a round of applause.

Members of the Student Veterans Organization, which just started in October, was also present at the ceremony.
