“Stage Beauty” Sashays onto Stage

“Stage Beauty” Sashays onto Stage

Travel back to the mid-seventeenth century, to a time when only male actors were allowed to grace the British stage. That’s the setting of Theatre Brookhaven’s spring performance “Compleat Female Stage Beauty.”

Created by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Michael A. Robinson, “Stage Beauty” will be at the Brookhaven College Performance Hall March 10-12 and 17-19 at 8 p.m., and March 13 and 20 at 2:30 p.m.

Edward Kynaston, beloved actor, was at the top of his game. Flawlessly portraying female roles, he played the part of Shakespeare’s Desdemona with perfection, a talent that defined him both personally and professionally. See how his perfect life turns upside down when women are finally allowed to take the stage.

General admission is $8; students and senior adults are $6. For tickets, contact the Box Office at Ext. 4118 or at

* Rated for Mature Audiences: This play may not be suitable for all audiences due to adult themes and strong language.
