The Marketing and Public Information Office has been working on a new look for the college’s main Web pages. The changes are not meant to be a complete re-design of the site but rather a way to simplify a few processes for students and refresh the look.
For the past year, the District Web Team has been working on a full re-design of the district’s pages that will change the menu bars on the main pages and the way the images are used in the page headers. Using the research the district conducted among students, we have been looking at ways to adjust our menus to make them simpler for students to navigate.
Right now there are more than 25 different links in the header of the home page, and that doesn’t count the full A to Z index. Our goal is to simplify those menus to just 10 or so links to more closely match what the other colleges and the district are using.
In a couple of open meetings at the college, the MPI office revealed a peak at the new pages and gathered feedback from a number of sources. We want more.
Included is a graphic representation of the new “look and feel,” and we'd like you to tell us what you think. Please send your comments, feedback and suggestions to Meridith Danforth, assistant director, marketing and public information, at mDanforth@dcccd.edu.
