Be sure to thank one of these ladies if you had a good time.
They put a lot of work into the party this year, and every year.
This year’s beach-themed holiday party sure made a splash!
Attendees participated in the annual art drawing and white elephant gift exchange, and raised their voices in a special celebration that will remain nameless for the time being. If you weren’t there, ask someone who was. Pint-sized coats from Coats for Kids were on display along the wall, and entrées, side dishes and desserts dotted the buffet tables.
As usual, employees turned out in a big way for all the charitable opportunities presented this year. Attendees learned that goals were shattered during the annual State Employee Charitable Campaign, and through the kind donations of many and the generosity of Macy’s department stores, each child in the Brookhaven College Head Start Center will have a brand-new winter coat this year.
The white elephant gift exchange, which benefits the Student Book Fund, drew in $83, according to Jamie Jenkins, coordinator, continuing education and workforce development, and holiday committee member.
The art drawing, which benefits the Brookhaven College Adjunct Art Faculty Staff Development Fund, raised enough money for five grants toward adjunct faculty staff development, said Susan Mollet, art professor. Art student Susan Johnson won Lisa Ehrich's "For the Flowers,” and fellow student Cindy Hennessy won Marla Ziegler's "Future Allusion."
Thanks to the Holiday Committee for all their hard work!
