Unused, Expired Coupons Offer Relief to Troops Overseas

Unused, Expired Coupons Offer Relief to Troops Overseas

The Career Development Center knows the perfect place for your unused coupons: in the hands of troops stationed overseas.

Bring your unneeded and expired coupons to the career center by Feb. 29 in Bldg. S, Room S065, and Coups for Troops, a nonprofit group, will ship them to military families living far from home.

Accepted coupons include clipped or unclipped manufacturer coupons – no restaurant or store coupons – and coupons up to three months expired. Base commissaries, military food and supply stores, accept manufacturer’s coupons up to six months past expiration, so three months expiration allows time for sorting and shipping.

Participation in the program is yet another effort by the CDC to support our troops, Annette Wilson, CDC director said.

Call the Career Development Center at 972-860-4894 to learn more about the coupon collection drive on campus, or visit www.CoupsForTroops.com for more information on the Coups for Troops program.
