Local Painters Bring Perspective to Exhibits

Local Painters Bring Perspective to Exhibits

Exhibitions by two local painters are showing in the Brookhaven College School of the Arts galleries through March 2.

Murielle White, adjunct drawing professor at the University of North Texas, is exhibiting her work in the Forum Gallery. Combining traditional and non-traditional media, White’s paintings are evocative of her multicultural, multilingual heritage. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art from the University of South Florida and her Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from the University of North Texas.

Kathy Windrow’s paintings, which reference landscapes, are showing in the Studio Gallery. Windrow is an art professor at Eastfield College, where she has taught since 1992. She attended Southern Methodist University, earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art, Master of Arts in art history and Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing.

The exhibitions are free and open to the public. The Forum Gallery is located in Bldg. F, Room F101; the Studio Gallery is located in Bldg. D, Room D127. Both galleries are open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

For more information about the exhibitions, contact David Newman, gallery director, at 972-860-4101 or at dNewman@dcccd.edu.
