For years, the Thursday evening after full-time employees came together for Convocation, the adjunct faculty members came together for the Colloquium. This year, however, the Adjunct Colloquium will be moving to Saturday.
At last spring’s Adjunct Awards, organizers asked these this group what they wanted from the college. Opportunities for professional development topped that list, and meeting on a Saturday was something that most were happy to consider.
By meeting on Saturday, Rodger Bennett, vice president for academic affairs and student success, said the Adjunct Colloquium will now allow for more in-depth presentations. The agenda will focus on the new core objectives.
The Student Learning Outcomes and Enrollment Management committees have both contributed to the agenda with material about assessment and the critical first days of class.
