Just in time for the first day of school, 19 kids across Dallas and Denton counties received the supplies needed for a successful school year.
Under the flagship of the Service-Learning Department, the Brookhaven College community collected and donated seven supply-filled book bags and a box full of crayons, markers, pencils and notebooks – all at a total estimated value of $480. Cash donations came in at an additional $694.
Rainbow Days, a nonprofit community partner, distributed the supplies during its Back-to-School Celebration Aug. 15, an annual party that benefits local children living in homeless, domestic violence or transitional living shelters.
A special thank you to Andrew Deibert, service-learning and civic engagement coordinator, for organizing the supply drive and to the following departments and organizations for preparing donations.Admissions Office
