Salute to the Holiday Committee

Salute to the Holiday Committee

"Red, White and Blue Holiday" may have been named for a July event, but the annual holiday party and 40-degree weather gave employees a taste of the holly, jolly holidays.

The Boonesville Auditorium in Building H was decorated from floor to ceiling in red, white and blue in honor of the holiday committee's chosen charitable organization, the United Service Organizations. Baskets filled with snacks and toiletries, the fruits of the charity drive, were displayed on each table and will be sent to the USO for distribution to the troops.

The white elephant gift exchange, which benefits the Student Book Fund, raised $116, according to Argie Landa, Human Resources, specialist IV, and holiday committee member.

The art drawing, which benefits the Brookhaven College Adjunct Art Faculty Staff Development Fund, raised $720 this year, said Susan Mollet, art professor. Rick Tuman, specialist, Workforce and Continuing Education, won David Newman's "Parable,” and Carol Gogates, art student, won Nick Hutchings' "Untitled (Breathe Series)."

Hats off to the Holiday Committee for yet another successful event!
