The spring semester is upon us, and students are working hard to budget their school tuition, book fees and unforeseen expenses that go along with enrolling in school.
Fortunately, the district has partnered with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit to ease their financial burden when it comes to getting to and from their classes.
The DCCCD Board of Trustees and DART have negotiated a contract to provide students attending Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland colleges the opportunity to purchase a steeply discounted, five-month regional DART pass for the spring semester.
With a 75 percent discount, the $200 regional pass will give students access to the transportation offerings provided by DART, the Trinity Railway Express, Denton County Transportation Authority and The T in Fort Worth from Jan. 1 to May 31.
The DART passes are now available in the Business Office. To be eligible, students must be taking at least three semester credit hours or be enrolled in 48 continuing education contact hours. They must also provide proof to the Business Office that they have registered and paid for their classes.
At this time, the approved contract applies only to the spring semester. However, DCCCD and DART are presently working together on an additional contract for the 2013-2014 academic year.
For more information students can contact the Business Office at Ext. 4814 or by visiting Bldg. S, Room S057.
