Don’t forget to mark your calendar for our two upcoming District days where we step out of the office and shake things up a bit! As we eagerly anticipate their arrival, here’s a rundown of what to expect and how to prepare.

Development Day
The Employee Development Day gives us the opportunity to enhance our personal growth and interact with colleagues through stimulating conversation and a wide range of wellness and educational events.

Each annual Development Day is also assigned a theme, which helps tie in our participation, the day’s agenda and other objectives of the program we hope to learn from. This year’s theme is “DCCCD: 2.0: Dedication, Collaboration, Community, Completion and Diversity.”

Employee Development Day will take place Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. North Lake College and Brookhaven College will co-host the Professional Support Staff and Faculty and Administrator events, respectively. Register for the event today at! The deadline for registration is Feb 18.

Also, support staff can take a peek at their Development Day agenda. Jump ahead of everyone else and register early for four of your favorite Breakout Sessions before they fill up!Faculty and administrators will have more than 50 different seminar sessions to choose from, so they aren't required to pre-register for any particular sessions.

As a special initiative tied to the event this year, all students and staff across the district are encouraged to participate in a Professional Support Staff Community Project that will benefit the North Texas Food Bank, appropriately recognized as “War on Hunger.”

Each division and department within the colleges will receive an empty box to load up with food donations through Feb. 20. The donations will then be transported to North Lake College on Development Day and weighed to determine which college contributed the most.

Let’s flex our muscles, Brookhaven Bears, and fight the hunger!

United We Serve Day of Service
As we take everything in from Employee Development Day, we also find joy in giving back to our surrounding communities! An additional day of the week is dedicated to participate in a day of service through United We Serve.

Employees are presented with 24 optional agencies to donate their time and volunteer with. Each is unique in the amount of effort they require and the goals they seek to accomplish. Registration with one of these agencies must be completed through eConnect to receive professional development credit for the day.
How to Register:

There are other options for those who do not want to volunteer with one of the 24 listed agencies. Employees can also:
