Earth Day Fest, April 4

Earth Day Fest, April 4

With the fresh greens of Spring come the green efforts of Earth Day. The college's annual celebration, Earth Day Fest, is April 4 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Commons Courtyard.

Drop by on your lunch break to learn money-saving green tips and try out the latest green products. Vendors will be on-hand from Natural Grocer, Groundwork Dallas, City of Carrollton - Parks and Rec, Farmers Branch Animal Shelter and more.

The crew from the Brookhaven College Library and Learning Resource Center will be there as well to encourage fest-goers to make green pledges.

"Come paint your hand green, and make your green pledge at the long tables in the Courtyard," said Lois Wagenseil, librarian III.

Bring a few bucks and your bargaining skills to the annual Big Bear Garage Sale, an extension of Earth Day Fest. The PSSA's spread will be as eclectic as ever, full of treasures both small and large. If you'd like to donate items for the garage sale, please call DeBorah Whaley-Stephenson at Ext. 4807.

The Green Team also plans to welcome back E-Waste Collections for e-recycling that day so employees and the public can recycle their old electronics, according to Carrie Schweitzer, Green Team member and Earth Day Fest organizer, and assistant to the president. Details have yet to be finalized, though, so stay tuned.
