College to Celebrate Arbor Day

College to Celebrate Arbor Day

Brookhaven College will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting April 25 at 2 p.m. between buildings S and A. Dr. Thom D. Chesney, college president, will lead the program.

All students and employees are welcome.

Celebrated initially in 1872, National Arbor Day was established by President Richard Nixon in 1970 and is officially observed the last Friday in April to plant and care for trees and to call attention to the importance of trees to our communities and to the planet as a whole.
