2013 Juried Art Student Exhibition Awards

2013 Juried Art Student Exhibition Awards

The Brookhaven College Art Department presented awards to students May 8 in the closing reception of the 2013 Juried Art Student Exhibition in the Forum and Studio galleries.

Juror Greg Metz, University of Texas at Dallas senior lecturer in visual arts, selected 97 artworks from 495 entries for the exhibition.

Additionally, Metz selected the following Juror’s Awards:

1st Place: Virginia Robertson, Return to Room F 114, oil on canvas
2nd Place: Oscar Chacon, Ruidoso, New Mexico, oil on canvas
3rd Place: Amy Titus, Gun Debate Over Coffee, ceramic, mixed media
Honorable Mention: Tori Baker, Deer Cam, antler, wood, steel
Honorable Mention: Jennifer Brandon, Saint Agatha Considers, digital photograph, archival pigment print
Honorable Mention: Dan Markham, Planes, wood, steel
Honorable Mention: Kenneth Rajspis, DMA # 2, digital photograph, archival pigment print

“The annual Juried Art Student Exhibition is the culmination of the year’s work for studio art students and represents the comprehensive curriculum of the program and the range and quality of students' work,” said David Newman, gallery director.
