Students Cash Out at Poetry Competitions

Students Cash Out at Poetry Competitions

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The Bears are the best
And in poetry, too!

We’re not able to turn a phrase quite like the students of Brookhaven College, so we’ll give them a shout-out instead! Two different poetry competitions were held earlier this month: the Slam Poetry Contest and Open Book Project Poetry Contest. The following students submitted their best work and were recognized as winners. Congratulations to them all!

Second Place - Devanté Smoot
Third Place - Alejandra Velasquez

Winners received a variety of gift cards, as well as gift certificates to the Follett Bookstore in the amounts of $90, $50 and $20, respectively.
