Question of the Month

Question of the Month

Light the grill, pick some berries and grab your ice cream scooper - it's time for summer cooking! What's your favorite summertime food or dessert?

Congratulations to Sheniqua Johnson and Grace Huang, our two Taste of Dallas ticket winners, and thanks to everyone who participated this week!

My all-time favorite summertime dessert is Tempura Fried Banana with Ice Cream from Taste of Asia!
Vernella Verdell

My favorite summertime food is BBQ hot-links on a bun with mustard and sweet-relish.
JohnPaul Tow, specialist I, Professional Development

--------------

I would like Iranian kabobs for food and carrot juice with ice cream floating in it (carrot juice floats, you could say) for dessert. I make this for my family most weekends during the Summer and they love it.
Mersedeh Sefidi, adjunct faculty, Mathematics and Science Division

--------------

Grilled Rosemary Parmesan Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, and Mint Chip Ice Cream Pie

Favorite summertime food: Lemon bars with some Kool Aid! Yummy, yummy.
Czarina Reyes

--------------

Marinated sizzling beef fajitas off the hot outdoor grill with an ice cold Corona or Margarita!
Buddy Reyes, advisor, Multicultural Center

--------------

My favorite summertime desert is homemade peach ice cream followed closely by strawberry shortcake.
Marilyn Lynch, associate vice president, Career and Program Resources

--------------

Hands down, marinated fajitas, grilled chicken, and smoked lamb. My dad and I would fire up the smoker and the grill to have a father-son collaboration on cookout days: he will handle the grilled chicken and lamb, while I'm responsible for the fajitas. We add some fresh corn tortillas and avocado to the mix, as well as other small condiments.
Mauricio Luna, department assistant, Marketing and Public Information

--------------

A really good hamburger and strawberry pie!
Pam Lloyd
, administrative assistant, Admissions Office

--------------

Cheese, Crackers and Summer Sausage
Sheniqua Johnson, cashier, Business Office

--------------

Grace Huang, administrative assistant, Advising Center

--------------

Nothing like a grilled hot dog and for dessert homemade ice cream topped with fresh strawberries or blackberries from the garden.
Sarah Graifemberg, workforce development training specialist, Corporate and Continuing Education Division

--------------

Fudgsicle
Melinda Franklin
, career planning assistant, Career Development Center

I have thought a lot about my favorite dessert for the summer and nothing is more satisfying on a hot summer drive than a Coffee Frappuccino.
Manuel Estrella
, senior information systems manager, Information Technology

--------------

Grandma Dorothy's icebox cake: Baked yellow cake pricked 50 times with a toothpick, drizzled with cooled liquid lime gelatin, chilled till it's set; then, frosted with a package of prepared Dream Whip into which a small package of instant vanilla pudding has been blended so it all sets up firm overnight. Made the day before you plan to serve it and garnished with a lime slice, it is guaranteed to elicit sweet memories of summers on the Minnesota farm.
Dr. Thom Chesney, president, Brookhaven College

--------------

Favorite summertime food is anything made outside on the grill (chicken, ribs, corn, potatoes).
Brian Borski, director, Office of Student Life
