The Brookhaven College School of the Arts is pleased to present an exhibition by Colby Parsons, Jan. 8-Feb. 11 in the Studio Gallery.
Parsons combines five-channel video projection with 3D, wall-mounted ceramic forms. He explores the interaction of 3D sculpture and texture of ceramic surfaces with everyday objects in digital video form.
Parsons's professional practice includes recent exhibitions at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in California, the International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark, the University of Pennsylvania Art Museum as well as locations in Dallas such as the Craighead Green Gallery, the Pawn Gallery and 500X Gallery. He also participated in the 2010 Taiwanese Ceramic Biennial with his installation from the Taipei County Yinggee Ceramics Museum.
He received his Bachelor of Philosophy from Miami University in Ohio and his Master of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University. He is currently an art professor at Texas Woman's University.
