Well, another spring semester has come to a close. As you read this issue of the Chatter, finals are being conducted, summer registration is in process, and graduation is only a day away. This is the best time of the academic year – graduation! Students have made their dreams a reality and Brookhaven College has fulfilled its mission of “Student Success.”
Congratulations to all of our graduates! We have some of our own “BHC family members” who will be receiving their degrees on Thursday. May you continue to dream and strive for the best! Thank you faculty – full-time and part-time, for providing excellence in the classroom! Thanks to all staff members for all of the work you do to help our students reach their goals.
Our students are prepared to take the next step in their future, as you have provided them the knowledge and skills to continue to build on the success that began at Brookhaven College. We all know that the work performed at community colleges transform lives, but graduation is the time this message is reaffirmed for many of us. When we see the faces of not only the graduates but the family members, friends and supporters of the graduates, you know the difference this educational attainment will make for these individuals. The cheers, the flowers, the smiles all confirm the importance of this milestone for our students.
Many faculty members will teach Maymester and Summer I, but it is hoped that all employees will take a break this summer season. May you have a great summer and come back renewed for another successful academic year.
