The Rhetoric of Campaigns: This learning community will examine the verbal skills, language choices, non-verbal techniques, and leadership skills of candidates for public office. Students who register for ENGL 1301- 2050 must also register for SPCH 1311-2050.

The documents, biographies, and literature of early America illustrate the narrative of history. The course makes use of eCampus and emphasizes writing and the exploration of ideas. Students who register for ENGL 1301-2051 must also register for HIST 1301-2051.

Students who register for ENGL 1302-2015 must also register for DRAM 2366-2004. The instructors have collaborated to link the two courses by content and theme, thereby enriching the students' experience with both the literature and films.

The Hero's Journey: Based on the work of Joseph Campbell, this course examines the journey of historical, literary, and film heroes towards enlightenment. Guest speakers will discuss a variety of topics, including psychology, philosophy and religion, to enhance students' understanding of ancient world literature and the significance of the hero's journey to one's own life.
