Web Page Design Part II will build upon the skills of Web Page I by adding to your Web site. Students will review how to design a Web site, format lists and tables, create custom graphics and add new pages and links. Students must be able to attend all five classes. Recommended Prerequisite: Web Page I. Digital Cameras
Digital Cameras will cover the various features of a digital camera. Students will learn about the process of transferring photos to the computer, how to take pictures with an eye for computer enhancement and for use in e-mails, and Web pages. Storage and retrieval of digital photos will be reviewed. If you have a camera, please bring it to class. Web Page I
Web Page Design Part I will focus on designing a simple personal or business Web site and covers how to put photos online and create e-mail links. In this five-session course, students will learn about free or inexpensive Web site hosting for their personal sites. No prior knowledge of Web design is required. Internet Part I will use Microsoft Internet Explorer with reference to SBC/Yahoo, AOL and other browsers. This five-session course will emphasize all basic e-mail functions plus attachments, searches using Google and other search engines, and addressing Web pages using instant messenger and discussion groups. Internet Part II will cover advanced e-mail functions, advanced and quick searches, and shortcuts to addressing Web sites. Users Group & Problem Solving meets four times during the semester. Each session has a theme/topic and provides demonstrations to increase student knowledge of computers, software and the Internet. In addition, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about their own computers and the software problems they are encountering. The course meets on Fridays, Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5. |
NOTE: ITSC 1401 is a career technical education course required for certain certificate and associate degree plans. It will not meet the Brookhaven College Core Curriculum and/or Associate in Arts or Associate in Science requirement and is not for transfer to a four-year school.
