Internet Part I is a six-session course covering basic e-mail functions plus attachments. Students will learn to do searches using Google and other search engines. Other topics include addressing Web pages, using instant messenger and shopping/purchasing online. The class will use Microsoft Internet Explorer and also will discuss SBC/Yahoo, AOL and other browsers. Recommended prerequisite: Windows XP. Internet Part I
Legacy Family Tree II
This course is a continuation of the Legacy Family Tree beginning course. Students will learn how to backup and restore Family Files; perform complex searches on Family Files, use advanced tagging and print customized reports; use the source clipboard to record source information; correct mistakes in records in a Family File; and export and import GEDCOMs. Required prerequisite: Legacy Family Tree I. Legacy Family Tree IV
Students will bring their Family File to class and enter individuals, events and sources during the class. Tips, tricks and techniques using events, source citations, locations, complex searches and customized reports will be discussed in the class. Required prerequisite: Legacy Family Tree II. If you are 65 years or older and reside in Dallas County (or own property in Dallas County subject to ad valorem taxation), tuition for credit classes is waived for up to six credit hours per semester.
