Web Page Design, Part I, will focus on designing a simple personal or business Web site and covers how to put photos online and create e-mail links. Audio Recording and Editing will cover the basics of recording all types of audio using the computer's sound hardware and the Audacity Sound Editor. Legacy Family Tree IV students will bring their Family File to class and enter individuals, events and sources during the class. Students will work on a project as well as learn different ways of creating masks to isolate specific areas of photos and work with various types of layers, including text layers. Publisher 2007 will introduce the design of a variety of publications such as greeting cards, invitations, fliers, newsletters, postcards, calendars, business cards and signs. Also covered are predefined layouts that are used to simplify formatting your publication if you do not design your own layout. Safe Computing
Safe Computing teaches you how to protect your personal computer and the information stored in it. Students learn to take care of their personal identity information, how to avoid premature computer hardware failures, how to safely surf the Web, and how to manage passwords, personal identification numbers and account numbers. Guarding against attacks from the Internet and malicious e-mail attachments also is covered. Recommended Prerequisite: Intro to Windows. Tips and Tricks/Vista
Tips and Tricks/Vista will deal with understanding and using the new features and capabilities of Windows Vista. Students learn easy ways to search for documents, run programs, reduce Internet risks and threats, and keep their computers running at top speed.
