Legacy Family Tree, Part I, is a comprehensive, easy-to-use program to organize your family information. Music Player Basics is a beginning course in the use of WMP11, iTunes and Winamp. This six-session course will emphasize the basic functions of playing and managing audio files running under the Microsoft Windows operating system. You will learn to copy (rip) your music CDs to the audio library and create (burn) copies of CDs for use on other audio players. Managing the audio and video library also will be covered. Collage with Photoshop Elements is a six-session course that will enable students to learn how to create collages by arranging and blending together digital images, drawings, text and scanned images to create an artistic composition for a variety of collage projects. Students will work on a project as well as learn different ways of creating masks to isolate specific areas of photos and work with various types of layers, including text layers. Tips and Tricks/Vista is six-session course dealing with understanding and using the new features and capabilities of Windows Vista. Students learn easy ways to search for documents, run programs, reduce Internet risks and threats and keep their computers running at top speed. Tips and Tricks/Windows XP will deal with improving Windows XP computer performance and fixing problems. In this six-session course, students learn easy ways to find what they want, customize and organize their files and photos, eliminate clutter and increase speed of operations. The session on Web browsing includes organizing and managing favorites, cookies, browser history and connection problems. Tips on avoiding and managing spam e-mail and organization also will be covered. Recommended Prerequisites: Intro. to Windows. Users Group & Problem Solving
Users Group & Problem Solving meets four times during the semester. Each session has a theme/topic and provides demonstrations to increase student knowledge of computers, software and the Internet. In addition, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about their own computers and the software problems they are encountering. Vista for XP Users is for experienced Windows XP students who have made the decision to upgrade to Vista or have purchased a new PC which came with Vista. Topics covered in this six-session course are the different versions of Vista; how to determine what software and hardware has been tested and approved for Vista; new screens, layouts and how to customize them, as well as the most frequently used functions, including new and modified ones. Advanced Windows XP will focus on Windows features which enable users to better control their Windows experience. In this six-session course, specific topics include folder management, file associations, shortcut management, device management and system tools. Word 2007, Part I

This six-session course includes creating and editing Word documents; naming, saving and printing documents; menus, toolbars and shortcuts; formatting, cutting, copying and pasting text; margins and indents; and inserting graphics and text from other documents and applications. Word 2007, Part II, will build on the concepts learned in Word Part I to work with columns, paragraph numbering, graphics, section breaks and creating envelopes and labels.
